Peequal supported the planting of 600 climate resilient trees across the UK in 2022-23
This year, Peequal has committed to plant 600 climate resilient trees in partnership with GreenTheUK and the Royal Forestry Society. Peequal have planted 600 hawthorns to create hedgerows to provide storm shelter for a newly planted woodland and connect historic hedgerows with surrounding wooded habitats. Peequal's hedgerow planting is part of their 'Plant The Bush' campaign where their mission is to give back to our leading lady, mother nature. In this report, learn more about the species planted by Peequal.
Tree Species Planted:
600 trees planted in Oxfordshire
These small hawthorn trees have been planted around the edge of a recently planted oak woodland to provide cover and feeding habitats for lots of woodland birds, including woodcock. These bushes will also help to protect the young oak trees from wind damage. Linear habitats, such as the one that has been planted in this woodland, act as 'wildlife highways' by connecting habitats. They provide animals that are traveling between habitats with shelter, food and routes of navigation.
